Ex gobernador de la provincia mediterr\u00e1nea entre 1983 y 1995, fue candidato a presidente de la UCR en 1989, cuando perdi\u00f3 las elecciones con Carlos Menem.<\/p>\n<p>El tambi\u00e9n ex senador nacional estaba internado desde hac\u00eda varios d\u00edas en un estado delicado. Seg\u00fan informan medios cordobeses, hab\u00eda sufrido\u00a0una fractura de cadera d\u00edas atr\u00e1s, de la que fue operado y se recuper\u00f3, pero su estado general se complic\u00f3 por una larga enfermedad que atravesaba desde hace tiempo.<\/p>\n<p>Su figura fue central en la pol\u00edtica cordobesa durante las d\u00e9cadas del `80 y &#8217;90. Elegido tres veces gobernador, su \u00faltimo per\u00edodo estuvo marcado por una serie de escandalosas denuncias de corrupci\u00f3n y hasta un proceso por supuesto enriquecimiento il\u00edcito, del que result\u00f3 absuelto.<\/p>\n<p>Su trascendencia a nivel nacional se dio en la campa\u00f1a presidencial de 1989. Angeloz\u00a0fue elegido por el entonces presidente Ra\u00fal Alfons\u00edn para ser el candidato de la UCR, en medio de una profunda crisis del gobierno nacional.
